How You Can Support Flourish Companion Project

Flourish Companion Project is being built through community collaboration, volunteer efforts, partnerships, and donations. Our goal is to create multiple ways for people to support companion animals, shelters, fosters, adopters, and the community based on their interests, abilities, and comfort level. At its core, Flourish exists to help reduce barriers that may prevent successful adoption, fostering, retention, accessibility, and long-term companion animal success.

There are so many reasons why people don't adopt or foster to begin with.  There's also many reasons why they are surrendered to the shelter.  Many don't have the knowledge to safely and successfully integrate a shelter pet into their lives and homes.  Many don't have the knowledge to solve problems with their pet ultimately leading to surrender.  We want to improve that.  One way is to supply those fostering and adopting with enrichment, calming/comfort, and housing type items to prevent unfortunate circumstances leading to the return of pet to the shelter.  Additional supportive services like training, dog walking, home checkins, pet sitting/boarding, and grooming services to help manage the needs of the animal at reduced rates for those adopting and fostering also helps improve the long term success for that pet.

Sponsor a Pet or Donate 

Sponsorship may help cover needs and reduce barriers to adoption/foster such as:

• adoption fees

• decompression or new-home starter kits

• food and supplies

• toys and enrichment items

• preventative care

• vaccinations

• flea, tick, and heartworm prevention

• grooming or training support

• temporary boarding or transition assistance

Supply Donations & Wishlists

Supporters may choose to donate supplies directly rather than monetary donations.  These could be used items you no longer need such as  a kennel or you could purchase from our wishlist.

Community Needs/Assistance Board

As the organization grows, Flourish hopes to develop a community support and sponsorship system where needs may be posted anonymously for individuals, fosters, rescues, adopters, or community members needing temporary support.

Community members may then choose to sponsor specific needs directly when possible.

FCP Foster & Training Apprenticeship Program

Looking to gain dog training experience, expand your animal care knowledge, and earn certifications without the high cost of traditional programs?

The Flourish Companion Project Foster & Training Apprenticeship Program is being developed to provide passionate animal lovers with access to mentorship, hands-on learning opportunities, organization-sponsored educational coursework, and certification pathways at little to no cost to participants.

Whether you're interested in becoming a more knowledgeable dog owner, exploring a future in dog training or animal welfare, building your resume, or simply developing valuable new skills, this program is designed to help you grow professionally and personally while making a meaningful difference in the lives of shelter dogs.

Participants will work directly with foster dogs, gain real-world experience in canine behavior and training, learn about animal welfare and shelter operations, and contribute to helping dogs become successful, lifelong companions.
